Today Is A New Day

Today I celebrate my 33rd birthday. Yes, that's two 3's!! My husband Brooks continues to remind me how old that sounds and that he is still 31 and that I am older than him. Which, to him I say you are only as old as you feel and today I feel, well, 33.

As we were sitting in his office talking about my birthday he said something really profound that I really had to stop and think about and share with you. He said that if you are a Christ-follower then everyday is like your birthday. Wow!!! A birthday everyday??? Yes, it's true. Each and everyday morning God pours out brand-new mercies. Yesterday's slate is wiped clean and today I am made new. It's like being reborn everyday. That is so incredible. God's faithfulness is so constant and His love is so pure that no matter what happened yesterday He has forgiven and provided us with a fresh start. And He has given us reassurance of this in His Word.

"The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. I say to myself, The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!” ~ Lamentations 3:22~24

Thank you Jesus for blessing me with another day and another year. Your unending love and glorious grace are truly amazing.
